Today is one of the busiest travel days of the year and already, the lineups have started at airports across the country. Airport officials expect to see about 100,000 passengers travel in and out of Pearson today and Saturday — about 15,000 more than a typical day. Greater Toronto Airports Authority spokesperson Trish Krale says the airport has its full staff on today and is ready to offer wheelchairs and the services of its surreys (those golf cart-type vehicles that can whisk you to your gate) through its Airport Customers Assistance Program. In Halifax, the Halifax International Airport Authority is advising passengers to allow extra time for all processing, including parking, check-in, and security screening. More Travel News
