Myrtle Beach Vacation

Myrtle Beach Vacation
When I was in Army training, I was stationed at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. Every once in a while on weekends we would have an opportunity to earn a pass to get away from the base for a couple of days. Since there isn’t much to do in South Carolina, we usually headed off base on a short Myrtle Beach vacation.

South Carolina in the summer time is hot. But it’s not your typical heat where the earth and air feel simply scorched by the sun. It is a humid and tropical heat that is smothering and sends people to the coast, searching for relief. One of the best things to do when there is a heat wave in South Carolina, as my army buddies and I quickly found out, is to leave the city and head for the coast on a Myrtle Beach vacation.

Not every Myrtle Beach vacation was a success. We had a few weekends that were a wash due to the weather and persistent storms along the coast. I don’t know about you, but the beach is the last place I want to be during a thunderstorm with lightning and wind. I’d rather be in a hotel room drinking cocktails and relaxing. There’s nothing like the threat of electrocution and storm-induced rough seas to make a person reconsider their Myrtle Beach vacation. Luckily, myrtle beach is more than just a beach destination. There is lots to do, from shopping and dining to seeing shows and enjoying the local scenery.

If I were to take a Myrtle Beach vacation these days, I would prepare for bad weather by having a backup plan of things to do. That way, it’s not quite as disappointing if the weather decides not to cooperate. Some local attractions include museums, amusement parks and even a Nascar Speed Park and a local aquarium. Of course these are the usual tourist attractions that everyone goes to, but it’s not entirely necessary to hit the touristy spots when looking for something to do on your Myrtle Beach vacation. You can just as easily have an enjoyable trip full of fun and adventure by visiting some of the local shops and restaurants. There is a lot to be said for a vacation that is relaxing rather than jam packed with every moment of your vacation scheduled to the minute with activities and a detailed itinerary. If you leave yourself open to any possibility for fun, myrtle beach is an excellent destination for a relaxing family vacation.

Romantic Weekend Getaways

Romantic Weekend Getaways
Honestly, if it were not for romantic weekend getaways, I do not know what I would do. I work something like 65 hours a week, and sometimes more. I did not set out to work this hard, but when you are just getting started in the advertising business, there is just no other option. My wife is just the same way – she works even more than I do. Lucky for us, we both work in the windy city, and there are many options for a Chicago weekend getaway.

We do not go on a romantic weekend getaway more than once a month, but believe me, if we could, we would. The problem is, it is a rare weekend where we get to leave work in time to really make it anywhere in time to enjoy ourselves. But whenever we do, we are sure to have good times.

My very favorite romantic weekend getaways are when we get to go to lake Michigan. I love the great lakes. They have the epic size and majesty of the ocean, but at the same time, they do not have salt water and are easier to swim in. If you come at the right time of year, you even get to swim in warm water – another advantage over the ocean. But best of all, these Great Lakes romantic weekend getaways are close by and easy for us to get to.

There are a lot of factors that go into romantic weekend getaways and determine whether or not they are successful. If you are really going to have fun on your romantic weekend getaways, the destination has to be just perfect. If the weather is not nice, the area is not scenic, or the room is not up to snuff, then the magic of a romantic weekend getaway is just not there.

Most of all, however, the success of a romantic getaway has to do with the people who are going on it. Both of them have to be in the right mood to have fun and enjoy the scenery, which means that the work week has to be really left behind for the weekend. If I bring any of my ad work on our romantic weekend getaway, there is no way that we are going to make the most of it. Instead, I will spend the whole time worrying about getting my work done, which is a real waste of romantic weekend getaways.

Mexico Vacation Packages
Where do you like to travel? Do you enjoy sailing through the different states in search of great places and hidden towns? Just you and your family with the wind in your hair and the miles of endless highway guiding your way. Yes indeed, traveling about and seeing new things is always a blast. However, have you ever ventured beyond your borders? You know, left that safety zone you know as your country? This can be an interesting and exciting path as well. Although it is certainly a blast checking out all America has to offer, maybe you want to think outside the typical box and give a foreign land a shot. In fact, maybe it’s time to check out a variety of Mexico vacation packages.

Have you taken a gander at all the wonderful Mexico vacation packages available these days? This is a great place to start for anyone who is considering a break from their home country. As you hopefully already know, Mexico is located right below our country, which makes it rather easy to access. Now, don’t get me wrong; you’ll still need your passport before heading down to Cancun. The great thing about Mexico vacation packages is the travel time. There’s no need to travel overseas to check out a foreign land. Who says that you have to travel all the way to Europe to have fun? This is a bunch of bologna. If you’ve bought into all that hype about France and London, then you’ve probably never seen Mexico vacation packages before. One thing that you may not have known is how ideal the cost can be with Mexico vacation packages. If you think the U.S. is expensive, then get ready for a break. When you travel down to Mexico for the weekend, you’ll probably spend less than you would have in the states. That’s the beauty of this relaxing country.

Are you in search of great deals on Mexico vacation packages? Hey, look no further than your very own living room. I’m talking about your personal computer. Pop it open and get online. It’s high time to review all the best Mexico vacation packages from home. Check out the all-in-one deals that can literally save you a bundle. That perfect vacation is within your reach. Can’t you just taste the margaritas? Oh, one last thing; just be sure to avoid Tijuana. It’s not exactly a hot spot.

Mexico Vacations

Mexico Vacations

My 5-year anniversary is coming up next year. Since my husband and I never had a real honeymoon, we’re looking into taking a nice anniversary vacation. On a limited budget, it may be hard to find someplace warm and tropical that won’t make us wish that we had stayed home. Our travel agent keeps telling us that there are some Mexico vacations that we definitely should consider. My husband’s comment to that was, “I want to go someplace where I won’t get sick from the water,” and that was the end of him considering anything to do with Mexico vacations.

I called my travel agent and asked her to send us some of the information on those Mexico vacations that she was so highly recommending. She did so immediately and between her brochures and information on the internet, I managed to find some Mexico vacations that actually sounded incredibly appealing. I approached the subject tenderly to my husband, telling him that we could take some bottled water with us and he could drink beer while we were down there instead of water. That seemed to peak his interest a tiny bit and we spent a few hours looking at the information.

A lot of the Mexico vacations that we were looking at included some really wonderful tours and excursions. I never realized how much history and culture Mexico offers to tourists and residents. Some of the surrounding activities were hard to overlook, which included swimming with the dolphins. I’ve always wanted to be able to swim with dolphins. It is just one of those things I have on my “to do” list. We called our travel agent back and told her to put together a few different Mexico vacations for us to consider and throw some pricing for the dolphin swims in as well. She sounded elated that we were taking her advice and within a few hours was calling us back. She had put together four different packages for Mexico vacations that we could decide between. They varied in price, but all were affordable and seemed like something we definitely could enjoy. All of the hotels were attractive and all-inclusive, which was a must for us. I hate to go on a vacation and have to carry money all over the place for meals
and activities. The dolphin swim was pricier than I would have agreed to but the packages were lower priced than anticipated so we could splurge and include the dolphin excursion.

After several hours of debating, my husband finally agreed that we should pick one of the Mexico vacations and book it. After getting over my initial shock and disbelief, we did exactly that. It turned out to be one of the most memorable anniversaries we’ve ever had.

Road Trips

Road Trips
Road trips are the single best way to spend any vacation. I have taken road trips across this country in every direction. I have even made it to and across Canada and may have a few tips for any of you readers that are planning road trips.

Road trips require a lot of patience and a good sense of humor. You will no doubt encounter people and situations you never considered.
Remember to always treat the locals well. You are in someone else’s neighborhood now and ought to play by their rules and respect their customs and belief systems.

You must always bring ample supplies of drink and food on road trips. This cuts down on costs and time spent at restaurants instead of on the road. Everyone needs to go to the bathroom every time you stop to fill up the gas tank. Everyone, every time. It can be terribly aggravating to have to stop to let someone use the facilities when you stopped only thirty miles back. These little stops add up in the long run and mean lots of time lost.

Road trips can be dangerous. Be sure to check your tire pressure and fluid levels at every fill up. Keep as up to the minute on weather as possible. Check the radio for weather updates and stop off at a gas station or truck stop if you want to check out the weather report on television. The reports you will see on television will help give you a much better picture of what to expect out there.

One of my road trips had me coming down from Canada on my way to Chicago. It was early spring and there was a massive thunderstorm system in my way. Driving at night, it was difficult to gauge what was in front of me and what I had to look forward to. Listening to my gut feeling, I dropped by a truck stop and checked out the weather report. It was a good thing I stopped. After seeing the Doppler radar maps and listening to the stories of those who had just come in from the storm ahead, I sat down for a spell. A few hours and a pot of coffee later, the road ahead was clear and welcoming.

That brings me to the most important piece of advice for road trips and life in general - listen to your gut. It is smarter than you. If you ever feel that it may be a good idea to stop or slow down, check the tires or the weather, do so. It is better to be safe than sorry and if you are out there on a lonely road, it is no time to be hasty or rash. Take your time and take it easy. It is better to get there late and in one piece than not to get there at all.

Road trips can be a great way to spend quality time with your friends or loved ones. Bring a lot of good music with you and comfortable clothes. A good pair of sneakers and a comfy pair of pants are your best bets when spending hours in a car. Make sure you have a good pair of sunglasses too! If you do run into any trouble, don’t panic. If you remembered your cell phone, you will be in good shape. My phone has solved every problem I have encountered during my road trips. Just remember to charge the batteries!

Disney Vacation Planning

Disney Vacation Planning

I can’t think of a child who does not dream of going to Disneyland or Disneyworld at one time or another. Disney vacation planning can be a little overwhelming to many parents especially if money is a concern. However, you can find amazing deals on this kind of family retreat.

As a rule of thumb you really will get more for the money if you stay longer. Forget weekend trips. Disney vacation planning should allow for at least five to seven days in order for you to get the most for your money.

Make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to make your arrangements. The longer the Disney vacation planning is, the more you are likely to save in the long run. It is a good idea to start considering your trip a year in advance. Of course, you can still find great deals closer to your trip but you will find that you spend less if you plan well in advance.

I chose to start organizing my family’s trip nine months before we were set to go. The first step in my Disney vacation planning strategy was to choose the best time of year to visit our destination of choice. You can save a lot of money if you carefully choose the time of year that you are going on your trip.

The next thing that I needed to do to get the Disney vacation planning under way was to gather as much information as I possibly could about the location as well as lodging options available in the area. There are plenty of options available and these places offer a wide range of prices so you really could benefit from doing your homework in this respect.

You can also find great packages that include meals with the lodging. This is a fantastic way to cut your cost considering that you will not be paying for meals. These all inclusive packages are the foundation for most Disney vacation planning because these packages really help you save a lot of cash.

In fact, you may be surprised that you can create an affordable trip to either the Disneyland or Disneyworld destinations for less than you imagine if you approach your Disney vacation planning carefully. All it takes is a lot of forethought and some organizational skills and you can be well on your way to your dream vacation.

Spring Break Locations

Spring Break Locations
The top spring break locations for the best spring break parties and fun. It doesn’t take long to realize that the best part of your college career is spring break. Yeah, you heard me right and you know darn well what I’m talking about. Well, if you’ve been to college or are currently in college you surely do. Those spring break getaways are outstanding. They’re the epitome of being young and alive. You and a number of friends can just head off to the beach for a week and soak up the sun, while taking a break from professors and homework. Ah, can’t you just taste the margaritas now? Of course that is if you’re 21 or older. Otherwise, how’s the iced tea? Anyway, can you name some of the best spring break locations known to man? I know I can.

What comes to mind when you ponder spring break locations? Are you thinking Myrtle Beach or some spot in the Florida Keys? This is all an opinion of course. Everything in this world is based on taste and preference. Regardless of which spring break locations you find the most appealing, there are a few things you should remember prior to taking that plunge in the salt water. First of all, know where it is you’re headed. Don’t cruise around aimlessly like a lost puppy dog. Mapquest your trip or use a contemporary GPS system. Folks who have no direction are typically the ones who become targets for criminals. They can see that you’re lost and from out of town. To them this may mean easy target or loads of cash. Secondly, tackle those divine spring break locations with people you know and trust. This goes double for those who will be consuming alcohol. Do you really want to put your life in the hands of some stranger? If you’re stupid enough not to heed this warning, then I don’t feel sorry for you. You’re in college; therefore you should have some decent common sense by now. And finally, stay out of the bad areas. Find out what is kosher and what is taboo. Again, it’s all about safety.

Online you will find oodles of spring break locations. If you’re honestly not sure which one is right for you and your friends, you may want to consider reviews. These are always posted online and can be accessed at any time. Furthermore you may find it helpful to research the safety factor of certain spring break locations before jumping in the car and taking of

Disney World Coupons

Disney World Coupons

My kids have been begging me to take them on a vacation to Disney’s Magic Kingdom for the longest time now. They want to see Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and the rest of their favorite characters, and of course they want to experience all the great attractions such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain. I hesitated at first because that theme park is notoriously expensive. But then I heard that I could get free Disney World coupons to help reduce costs.

I checked for Disney World coupons online and was amazed by what I saw. In all honesty, I was just expecting to get a small discount on park admission tickets and I would have been completely happy with that. But there are actually a lot of different kinds of Disney World coupons that not only cover admission, but also hotels, rental cars, and even meals. It looked like I would be able to save a lot more money than I bargained for!

Some of the free Disney World coupons I found online were pretty straightforward to use. All I had to do was print them off and present them at the ticket window, hotel desk, or rental car clerk in order to enjoy the discount. These vouchers were generally for smaller amounts like 5 to 10 percent off. Still, those Disney World coupons could add up to decent savings when applied to a family of four.

Then there was a whole other class of Disney World coupons that were much more attractive to me. These were the buy-one-get-one free vouchers that could really help make our trip more affordable. Unfortunately, these Disney World coupons were much harder to come by. Instead of just printing them myself, I would have to go and listen to a sales presentation near the Magic Kingdom. These firms presenting these sales pitches weren’t affiliated with the Walt Disney company at all, but were offering valid Disney World coupons as a means of attracting potential customers. The sales presentation would be held early in the morning and would take about an hour, with no obligation to purchase anything. After that, I could collect my Disney World coupons and head to the park.

The more research I did, the more I realized that my upcoming trip to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center would be more affordable than I ever imagined. I know I’ll never head to Orlando again without checking for Disney World coupons online first.

Spring Break Trips

Spring Break Trips

Spring break is that wonderful time of year when students of all ages and their teachers get that most needed break from all those learning activities preparing them for life as responsible taxpaying adults. Spring Break Trips also allows the parents of younger students a break too, and gives them an excuse to plan a vacation away from the normal day to day grind. It gives college students an excuse to break away from their normal responsibilities as well go to some exotic location where they can lose all their inhibitions. (We’ve all seen those advertisements for “Girls Gone Wild”!!)

Spring Break Trips usually occurs either the third or fourth week of March, and sometimes even the first week of April. This is the time of year when all those living things that have been dormant for  the winter months, begin to rejuvenate from increased sunlight and warmer temperatures. This principle does not just apply to plants and insects, it applies to human as well. Unless you live in Hawaii, most areas in the United States go through either a subtle or drastic change of seasons, leaving all of us ready for the green grass, flowers, and fresh smelling spring rains that bring everything back to life. Especially in the northern most states, all that snow and cold, and the extra chores that come with it get sort of monotonous after awhile. If it’s a realistic possibility, why wouldn’t you want to get away?

There are many options for how to spend your Spring Break Trips. It depends on a bunch of different variables; money, time, and resources being the most important. If you don’t have all three it just isn’t happening. Once you do, you need to decide where you want to go and what you want to do. Maybe you don’t want to go anywhere, maybe you just want to spend a week at home catching up on all those things you never have time to do. That may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but of course, it an option, and that’s why we are called individuals. Whatever you decide to do, I’m sure you will have a great time. You may just decide to put the kids in daycare and save your vacation for another time, it’s all up to you. You can just sit back and watch clips on the news, MTV, and the Entertainment channel of everyone else having a good time! Or not!
